A great day for the Stingers and baseball in Scarborough

The grand opening ceremony at Neilson Park to christen the new Diamond 2 was an event of great fun and pride for our Stingers program and the community of Scarborough. Former big leaguers Roberto Alomar, Sandy Alomar Sr and Lloyd Moseby took the time to attend the big event. And after welcoming players, parents and guests to the refurbished field, the MLB alumni held a baseball clinic for 70 Stingers players.

The Stingers will be ever grateful to the Jays Care Foundation for generously funding the project. Thanks also to the City of Toronto for doing the actual work of building a new clay infield, laying down sod and a sprinkler system and erecting a fence around the diamond. We are Scarborough. And mighty proud of it.
