Congratulations to the Scarborough Stingers Minor Bantam A team for winning the TBA Championship on August 24 at Neilson Park.
The home team needed two wins Sunday over the previously undefeated Royal York squad in order to take the trophy. In the first game, the Stingers came from behind to win in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 7th. The second game was not as close with the Stingers winning 10-4 to become champs.
Next stop for coach Rick Greif’s team — a trip to the Provincial Championship on the Labour Day weekend. Go get ’em, boys!
They’re off to the Provincials! Coach Kevin Coyle’s exciting Stingers Peewee AAA team has qualified for the OBA Championship,

Congrats to coach Darien List, his staff and all the Baby Bees for a great win!
Jabari Smith of the Scarborough Stingers Peewee AAA team was among the 275 kids getting the star treatment this summer at the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy Camp.
All of the participants at the Rogers Centre worked with former big leaguers like Jesse Barfield, Candy Maldonado, Lloyd Moseby, Rance Mulliniks, Duane Ward, Devon White, Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar, and his father Sandy Alomar Sr.
The 12-year-old Smith is a lifelong fan of the Blue Jays, watching from home and at the ballpark whenever he can. Someday he hopes to take the same field as a Blue Jay and his experience with the Academy only makes him want it more.
“I come to games and watch them on TV, but it feels really good to be on the field,” he said. “I feel like a big leaguer. Being on the field is the coolest part, and it’s really nice to go in the clubhouse. I want to be a big leaguer and play for Toronto.”
