2012 Tryouts

The '00 Scarborough Stingers held open tryouts for the 2012 Minor Peewee team in September.

We're looking for good hitters and pitchers, born in 2000, who have baseball smarts, athletic ability and a team-first attitude.

All players from outside Scarborough must have a Permission to Try Out Form signed by their 2011 club's registrar.

2011 Season Highlights

Mosquito Stingers do it again
The Scarborough Stingers AAA Mosquito team won its second tournament of the year with an undefeated run to the championship crown in Cambridge.

The Stingers romped over the competition all weekend and finished by putting an exclamation point on their dominance with a 13-1 win over Kitchener in the championship final.

The team beat Georgetown, Guelph and the Mississauga Majors to advance to the playoffs. They beat Brampton 7-2 in the semi-final to earn a spot in the championship game.

Coach Dave Parker again credits the big bats and a complete team effort for his squad's second tournament championship of the 2011 season. Earlier this year, the Mosquitos finished first at the Vaughan Tournament.

We're Number 1: Mosquito Stingers Win Vaughan Tournament

They overcame the weather, conquered the competition and came out as champions at the Vaughan Mosquito AAA Tournament in May. Congratulations to the Scarborough Stingers mosquito baseball team for a hard-fought and very impressive victory.

It wasn't easy. Rain forced the team to play three games on Sunday after starting the tournament with wins over Oakville and Guelph. The Stingers beat Newmarket 11-8 Sunday morning to move into the semi-finals where they continued their winning ways against the Mississauga North Tigers with a 7-4 victory.

With pitching stretched to the max, the Stingers went up against the #1 ranked Whitby Chiefs in the championship game. Coach Dave Parker credits every player on his team for digging down deep and playing with great determination. The team effort paid off with a nail-biting 7-6 win over the Chiefs and a much deserved Mosquito Championship.
